will the laptop recoginize the latest RAM on its own or do i have to do something inorder for it to certify the new RAM

You won't hold to do anything other than check to fashion sure it is recognized correctly. To do this contained by Windows XP just hit ctrl+alt+del key together then click the manners tab and under physical memory it will communicate you the total memory. Its not close to a program you need to configure, its hardware so on bootup the computer will sanction how much RAM it has where on earth, and will begin utilizing it as needed.
It should endorse it no problem as long as it's the correct ram
The computer should do it by itself .
It will spot the new RAM itself.
