About the 12V cable?

my motherboard requires a 8 pin 12V power cable to be plug contained by, but my power supply only have 1 4-pin cable, is it okay to just plug it contained by? leaving another 4 hole clear?

i have another power supply within my another computer too, that power supply has two 4-pin power cable, may be i can also try to plug two 4-pin cable into the 12V connector on the motherboard? will the two 4-pin cable act as 1 8-pin cable after i plug them within?

or actually i necessitate to buy a power supply with a 8 pin power cable?

About the 12V cable?

I would not recommend plugging two 4-pin cable into the power supply. I think that could raison d`¨otre bad things.

As far as a single 4-pin cable, some motherboards beside an 8-pin connector will work with a single 4-pin power supply. Your mobo instruction book should tell you if this is the bag. If you don't have your mobo instruction book, you can usually download it from the manufacturer's site.

Note that if you need an 8-pin connector, at hand are 4-pin to 8-pin converters. See below for an example.
