Will my motheboard work next to this cpu.?

I hold an ecs mobo with a LGA775 socket. It say on the box it will support certain cpu s. If i buy a hot cpu that wasn't around at the time the mobo was made, but beside the same socket, will it support it?

You didn't schedule the model of your motherboard, so I can't answer your question. You will find your motherboard's guide and compatibility list here:

I'm assuming your conversation about a dual core CPU. CHeck the literature or look up the model number of the board and see if it say X2 or Core Duo on it. If so then you should be ok.. but for then i would look for a brand new motherboard..

It would probably be better to get a unmarked board anyways. Just make sure it supports like RAM you have.
Not necessairly... the system be designed only to give somebody a lift up to a certain spec.

ECS website can make clear to you if it will or not but I would almost bet that it won't work.

Without knowing the CPU and motherboard model it's impossible for anyone to tell you.
Maybe if you flash the bios. Read reviews on confident sites see if anyone mentions the processor you want. Is this a C2D? chances are you can verbs it off by a BIOS update. but read a review of the board at newegg or tiger. If you can't use C2D, only just use a presler. ALMOST as high operation as a 6300
