While playing songs thru any medium player on my computer,sometimes layer of the songs are skipped.Why?

All the songs are ripped from productive CDs.This problem arose recently.

For Example:some times singular the voice is heard contained by places of the song that have music too and vice versa.

My computer:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4ghz

2 GB bump

Windows XP SP2
